HAVING six claws has helped save a lobster from the dinner plate and given it pride of place in an aquarium.
The lobster, named “Lola”, was donated to the Maine State Aquarium after being discovered by a fishing boat featured on reality show Lobster Wars. The bizarre-looking crustacean weighs 1.8 kilograms, and has five claws that resemble a mangled hand on its left side, and a normal claw on its other side. “Sometimes the genes will just get a little mixed and it will grow a funny claw,” marine scientist David Libby said. “But I’ve never seen anything like this.”
